Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a pop/country singer-songwriter for the past 20 years. The stories she tells of her romance and love at first sight have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift discovered a love for the arts at an early stage and progressed swiftly from roles in children's theatre until her first performance before hundreds of people. It was at the age of 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. the following year she took up guitar and began writing songs. Swift made original music which was influenced by country stars like Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material is a reflection of her experiences as young and a teenager. Swift's family moved across the state of Tennessee to Pennsylvania at the age of 13so she could spend the time she wanted to pursue popular country music labels in Nashville.
